Neal Williams was born on November 28, 1942 at the home of his parents, Cornelious Williams and Laura Gertrude VanOrden Williams, in Thomas, Idaho.
Neal is the youngest of twelve brothers and sisters. He grew up in the Thomas, Idaho area and attended school in the Snake River School District, graduating from Snake River High School in 1961. After high school, Neal served an LDS mission in Arizona and New Mexico with the Native American Indians. His mission was titled the Southwest Indian Mission. After his mission, Neal attended Ricks College, where he met his wife, Ruth Neibaur, during Christmas break on a blind date. That summer they got engaged and were married on December 28, 1964 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
After their marriage, Neal continued his schooling at Ricks College and Ruth worked in the Admissions office there until his graduation in 1967. Then they went to BYU where Neal attended school and Ruth worked in the Provo City Offices. After a year at BYU, they moved back to Thomas, Idaho where they farmed with Neal's father for two years. After his father sold the farm, Neal attended Idaho State University for a year and then went to work for Pages Supply in Riverside, Idaho. Then in the fall of 1973, he got a job at the Union Pacific Fruit Express in Pocatello, Idaho and has been working there ever since as a Mechanical Refrigeration Repairman.
