The Pack 6 Register

December 16, 2004

Caroling:

Caroling with Trinity went very well. While the number of scouts was a little short of what I was hoping for, the response from the people receiving the gift of Christmas music from the cubs was very rewarding. The simple act of singing during the holidays to people who otherwise may not have a chance to enjoy the holidays is a present that is worth more than we can appreciate. Thank you for spending your Sunday spreading the Christmas Spirit.

Blue and Gold Banquet Committee

Pack 6 needs to start preparing for the Blue and Gold Banquet that will be held during the February Pack meeting. The Committee will coordinate decorating Mary Dawson Hall, invite guests to the dinner, Plan a small Presentation, and coordinate the pot luck dinner. It would be great if three (3) people would step forward to help with the banquet. It’s fun and means a lot to the boys in the pack.

Pinewood Derby.

The pine wood derby will be held on January 22nd, and the Grand Pinewood Derby Dude, Gary Saupe, will once again award Trophies to 1st , 2nd, and 3rd place for each den. Every boy will receive a certificate, and ribbons for honorable mentions. This will be Gary’s final year for Derby Duties, so we need to get a few new people to learn the ropes so we can carry on next year. Contact Desiree or Gary to help with the great race.

Also remember that the race is a chance for the scout to work with a parent in design AND construction of the car. Make it a fun and enjoyable event.

Pack 6 Web Page.

www.trinityscouting.org is the location of Trinity Scouting and there you’ll find links to all the scouting units based at Trinity. I’ve made a pladge to keep the page somewhat up to date, and you’ll find the calendar for the rest of the cub scout year there.

Check it often, and be sure to let me know if I miss something.

A Wrapper a Day

A Wrapper A Day - that's my motto.

When I'm out walking, I try to pick up a wrapper a day - its usually more than that, unfortunately. I have no idea how the wrappers get there, but there's never a shortage of them.

I'm over 40 years old and I have never actually seen someone throw a wrapper on the ground. I have no idea what sort of person does it. It just doesn't make sense to me, but there seem to be more than enough of them around.

So, I just do what I can when I can - just a wrapper a day.

There are 30 of us here. If we all did A Wrapper A Day, that would be over 10000 wrappers in a year - and that would be about 100 pounds.

Of course its up to you to help or not and no one will know if you do. But, wouldn't it be great if one day I couldn't find my wrapper for that day?
