I've noticed it as well, but I'm not sure what it is since I have never actually seen the camera or it's placement. I'm wondering if it is some kind of reflection. I have seen something like this before when a video camera is placed near a pane of glass, the "record light" can reflect back on the image. Maybe the camera has an LED that is reflecting off of the housing.
