Welcome

We're a Venturing Crew dedicated to scuba diving and water related adventure foryouth ages 14 through 20. Venturing BSA is a Co-Ed division of the BoyScouts of America. Venturing is?


   Meetings

We meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month at 6:00 p.m. at Inland Scuba, Inc. at 551 South Capital. Pool sessions are at 8:30 p.m. at 159 E 7th. This is at the Idaho Falls Aquatic Center.

   About us...

Crew 162 is sponsored by Inland Scuba, Inc. which is dedicated to the education and promotion of scuba diving and from May 2001 was our first year. Through out 2001 the crew participated in scuba diving activities sponsored by Inland Scuba Aqua Nutz Dive Club which included the "Scuba Olympics", "Easter Egg Hunt", "Underwater Poker Run" and  "Underwater Pumpkin Carving". The crew provides service to the INEEL Safety Expo, Bonneville County Search and Rescue Water Workout Weekend and the International Coastal Clean-up. The expo is dedicated to public education of safety. The "Workout" is dedicated to the training of search dogs for use in recovery of drowned victims. The "Clean-Up" is a world event used to clean up our oceans and waterways. In these activities the crew assist in the booths or as open water divers.  In addition to these activities, the crew enjoys diving trips, bicycling, rock climbing, motor boating, water skiing, white water float trips and just having fun. 
 

Uniforms

The crew uniform is a ash t-shirt with the crew logo on the left breast. A crew officers may wear the name of their elected position on the left sleeve of the shirt. A crew member may use the venturing class "A" uniform provided by the Boy Scouts of America.
 

Programs

Crew 162 participates in water related activities. The crew members are certified by "Scuba Schools International" as "Passport" or "Openwater Divers". Crew members have the opportunity to become Advanced or Stress and Rescue Divers.  The crew members may obtain certifications and advancements from the Boy Scouts and the Venturing Programs. They may also receive training from the Inland Scuba, Inc. staff in areas of regulator service, cylinder inspection, fill station operation, dry suit repair and others.
