Results and Benefits

Fly fishing techniques learned in the school are used on most streams and lakes, as well as bays and estuaries around the country. Participants in the fly fishing school have opportunities to apply lake-fishing techniques on the two-acre pond surrounding the home and stream-fishing techniques in the large canal circumscribing the property. Both the pond and canal harbor trophy-sized Rainbow and Brown Trout.

Results and Benefits of the Specific Packages
At the end of the three-day package, you will know how to select, use, and manage the basic fly-fishing system composed of rod, reel, line, leader, fly, and hand. You will know how to tie basic knots used in the system, tie four basic patterns of flies, and and select flies appropriate for most aspects of trout fishing. You will also recognize where trout live, what foods each size of trout eats, basic food organisms of trout in lakes and streams, and safety practices while fishing. You will have the ability to catch trout in most lakes and streams without additional professional assistance.

The four-day package includes a choice of two unforgettable experiences, which will allow you to practice the skills learned in the first three days. Choose to float the Snake River with a guide, who will assist in applying the lessons learned in the School to catching "wild" trout in various stream environments. Or select and use some specialized fly-fishing equipment for other species of games fishes. Participants opting for an extra day of instruction will have the confidence to fly fish for trout anywhere and have the knowledge of what kinds of equipment are needed to fish for other game species.

At the end of the five-day package, you will know and be able to practice the basics taught in the three-day package, understand and use specialized equipment for other game fishes made available in the four-day package, and experience a guided float trip. The guide will see that results of the first three days of training are applied to real situations on "wild" trout. You will be ready to fish for most game fishes, prepared to master most fly fishing situations, and capable of fly fishing anywhere with confidence.
