The Flying B Seasonal Hunt|
Big Game hunting at the Flying B Ranch is a special opportunity available
to a few lucky hunters each year. Whitetail, Mule Deer and Elk hunts must be booked well in
advance to ensure permits and reservations. Cougar and Black Bear permits are usually available
until late in the season. Elk Elk are known as Wapiti to the Native Americans. The Flying B Ranch maintains an exclusive 710,000 acre outfitting area in the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness, which is home to the finest elk herds in Idaho. All Elk hunting is conducted in wilderness areas, and requires some horseback riding. |

Whitetail & Mule Deer While both Whitetail and Mule Deer are found on the ranch property, hunts are also conducted in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. Mule deer are hunted on wide-open grassy plains, while Whitetail are usually found in to the dense, forested areas. Hunters may choose between staying in the lodge at night, or staying in comfortable back-country camps. |

Cougar Record book Tom Cougar have been taken from our areas over the past several years, and the trophy populations are stronger than ever. Cougar are hunted with hounds during winter months using snowmobiles when possible. Cougar may be taken by rifle, pistol, or archery. Clients stay in the lodge during cougar hunts.
