COUES DEER HUNTING
Sonora's various habitats provide the deer hunter with a distinct species of deer. These deer are the coues deer (desert species of whitetail). Boone and Crockett recognizes this as a different species. Many coues deer in our areas are near, at or above Boone and Crockett sizes. These coues deer are hunted by glassing or stalking. They typically live on the hills or mountains, while the mule deer prefer the desert floor. Many times both species are found in the same areas we hunt. It is not unusual to see a coues deer and a mule deer during a morning hunt.
