Hail from the Chief
By Trish Bargman
We
had a great turnout for our Sweetheart Brunch on Saturday. Fourty-Eight people
turned out and Frontier Pies put on a very nice brunch for us. We
had plenty of space and a quite place to visit and conduct a meeting. Frontier
Pies said they would love to have us again, and they would do a brunch,
lunch, or dinner for us. We will take them up on the offer I'm sure.
It was great to see some old
friends that we had not seen for awhile as well as all the 'regulars'. Thanks
to Doug and Bev Evancic we have some new members, Tim and Donna Carlson.
Welcome to the club. They have a 2002 yellow Z06.

Meeting Minutes for January
By Bev Novak
The meeting was held at the Brownstone restaurant. We had a good turnout. There were two main things to be discussed at the meeting, the show and charities.
Tim reported that he had a lot of sponsors already. He has found enough people to do the poker run that no club members will need to work on that. He is trying to get someone to take pictures during the poker run. He hopes to have the prices locked in. He doesn’t have any paper work yet. He needs all sorts of help. He does not have a list of what he needs. If you want to help you can call Bill Madsen at home or work.
They have different ideas on the Committees. They plan to have canvas bags embroidered. They will have upscale shirts. They need to get the information on the web and national advertising. They are going to look at the test facility to see what they can have there. The dates are August 24 – 26. They might organize a trip through the park. It might fall on the free day to enter the park.
Brain has received all the writeups for the Charities. He needs to get the forms to the Valley Corvette Club. We have over $10,000 so each charity should get around $3400. We will need to contact the media when we present the checks.
Elections were discussed. We had one person on the ballet: Connie Lamprecht for Treasure. We needed volunteers for Secretary, Vice President, and President. Doug Evancic volunteered for Secretary, Brian Novak volunteered for Vice President, and Trish Bargman volunteered for President. Elections were held. Welcome to the new officers. Thank you to the out going officers.
The
Trish took suggestions for the Sweet Heart brunch. The Cellar, Gracias, Denny’s, Rutabagas, Shilo, and Pepper Tree were all suggested. Dates discussed were the 10th, 17th, or 24th.
The logos are due for the show at that meeting. Get your drawing tools going.

Egon Yep, we are in the cold of winter, but
the season does not matter. The subject matter this time is
“antifreeze/coolant”. If you own a GM vehicle that was manufactured
after about 1996, it was factory filled with long-life coolant commonly known
as DEX-COOL. Ford also has a long life coolant. The benefit is that it has a
replacement time of five years/50,000 miles. Another benefit is that it
protects all the aluminum, brass, cast iron, steel, solder, and copper. That
should cover all the stuff in your power plant. It also maintains good
lubrication for the water pump. It is unique orange in color so just looking
at it will tell you what you have. Most major manufactures make it: Pennzoil,
Shell, and Prestone. The downside, if any, is you cannot mix standard
coolant with this stuff. It will really mess things up. If you have a Jiffy or a Quick Lube do
your service work, let them know that they cannot mix the cheep stuff they sell
with your Dex-Cool. They might not tell you and just top it off. It could
happen. So keep your cool.
