Taylor Mountain (Victor Peak), WY (10,352')
Intro | The Ascent | Getting There | Facts
If you are looking for a beautiful short hike in the Teton Range, possibly as a warm up for Table Mountain, Taylor Mountain is the answer. Situated midway between Driggs, ID and Jackson, WY, the trail head is easily accesible. Although the peak is visible and actually very near the trailhead, the trail goes far north before switchbacking its way up the mountain. The hike begins in a small canyon with a stream alonside. Soon the trail enters some grassy areas where it turns left and climbs Taylor Mountain. You can hike south along Taylor Mountain's ridge to end up at Victor Peak, the highest mountain in the general area. From here, there is an interesting viewpoint of the Grand Teton, as well as the Menan Buttes.
