Table Mountain, WY (11,100')
Intro | The Ascent | Getting There | Facts
Table Mountain is a climb not to be missed in the Tetons. This 11 mile hike seems much longer that it really is because of over 4,000' of climbing. Once ariving at the top, you are literaly face to face with the Grand Teton. Although you're within a mile of the Grand's summit, Cascade Canyon which drops nearly 3,000' makes for very dramatic views. Although strenuous, this hike can be done in less than 10 hours. Because of the elevation, an easily crossed snow field often covers the saddle just below Table Mountain's summit. The only downside of this hike is the five miles of dirt road into the Teton Campground Trailhead.

My opinion of this hike |
I loved this hike. Although it was very hard, the view of the Tetons were worth it. |

Other |
The trail up Table Mountan has a tendency to dissappear sometimes, so bring a map and compass. As far as the hike, your knees will really get it coming down. |
